Dimapur, Jan. 20: Despite putting up a brave public front, the Congress party in Nagaland continues to suffer setbacks–a trend that has been plaguing the grand old party for decades in Nagaland.
The latest blow to hit the Nagaland Pradesh Pradesh Committee (NPCC) arrived from its veteran leader, and former chief minister KL Chishi. Citing ‘trust deficit,’ the Congress veteran on Sat. announced his resignation from the NPCC–and the Indian National Congress, by extension–with immediate effect.
Sources close to Chishi suggested that he was most likely to join a national party.
