Dimapur, Nov. 15 (EMN): As part of the ongoing ‘Childline Se Dosti’ campaign to create a child friendly corner/room at every police station in Dimapur district, the Childline Dimapur, has refurbished a room by creating it more child friendly and less intimidating for juveniles at the Sub-Urban Police Station, Dimapur.
The Childline Dimapur, along with “well intentioned” sponsors has whitewashed walls of the room and created artworks of child friendly nature. The objective of creating the child friendly corners in every police station is to make the police set up less intimidating for children in need of care and protection and children in conflict with the law. It also does away with the unavoidable practice and circumstance of keeping children in conflict with law along with accused adult criminals by keeping the children in a separate child friendly room, the release stated.
Meanwhile, the Childline requested all concerned and discerning citizens, children and adults, to make diligent usage of the toll free Childline helpline no. 1098, which is manned 24×7, if they witness or are aware of children being abused, abandoned, missing, loitering around or in distress situations.
