Phek, Jan. 8(EMN): Preparations for the ‘5th Chakhesang Day’ and 37th general session of the Chakhesang Public Organisation are underway. The event is scheduled to be conducted at Chesezu village in Phek district, from Jan. 9 to the 10th, a press release from the organisers informed on Tuesday.
The Chakhesang Public Organisation has appealed to all the participating village delegates to avail home stay facilities and accommodation that would be available for the event. The organisation hoped that the delegates would also visit ‘historical places within the vicinity of Chesezu village good number of historical places and monuments are available in the village viz. Subhas Chandra Bose Memorial Peak and other places,’ the press release stated.
The general session will be held on January 9. The programme will be conducted from 1:00 pm. Timikha Koza, the president of the Tenyimi People’s Organization will “share status” of Article 371 (A), the updates stated. The presidential address will be delivered by President Kekhwengulo Lea, Reports of the general secretary and treasurer will also feature as highlights to the program, the organisers stated.
Besides, a new team of office bearers for the organisation for the tenure 2019-2021 will be appointed. Resolutions will be taken besides general discussions, the organisers stated.
Further, the 5th Chakhesang Day will be observed on January 10. Chotisuh Sazo, member of the legislative assembly representing 18th Chozuba assembly constituency will be addressing the event too. Cultural art performances will be a feature of the event, the updates stated.
The Chakhesang Public Organisation has appealed to all the villages of the Chakhesang areas to be part of stated programs ‘and be blessed.’
