Dimapur, May 23 : The Chakhroma G.B’s Union has appealed to the villages under the jurisdiction of Angami Nagas wherever the proposed 4-lane Highway between Dimapur and Kohima crosses, to co-operate with the authorities without any impediment, provided the government clears all pending land compensations or other dues payable to the land owners as per the present practices.
Union president Thepfukedo Kuotsu and general secretary Atso Gwizan in a press note said, “It is the practice and tradition of the Angami Nagas that there should be no blockage for roads and waterways, and even the present NH 29 was constructed without any compensation or objection from the traditional land owners.” The union also appealed to local contractors under the aegis of NCSU, not to hamper the developmental programs, initiated by Government of India, as they do not have the requisite equipments to take up such project, and also to enable quality works to be executed.
