Chakhesang students prepare for 70th conclave

Kohima, Jan. 4 (EMN): The 70th general conference of the Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) is scheduled to be conducted from Jan. 16 to the 18th at Kiitsapo in Phek district. The students issued a press release on Thur. informing about the event.

The event is scheduled to be conducted with the theme ‘reorienting issues,’ the press release stated. It was also coincide with the golden jubilee celebration of the Kiitsapo Students’ Union (KSU), the updates stated.

The speakers during the three day-long conference will include member of the Rajya Sabha KG Kenye; commandant of the 5th NAP at Phek Krodi Rhetso; retired director of Art & Culture Vevo Sapuh; professor at University of Hyderabad Dr. Veniisa Tinyi; and former minister and former CSU president N Theyo, the updates informed.

It is mandatory for all the affiliated units and subordinate bodies to attend the conference with a minimum of 20 delegates each, the organisation informed. There is to be an award for best ‘disciplined unit,’ the group stated.

Among other highlights of the event, the group informed that an award called the ‘Late Niesatsu Khamo & Late Zekope Krome Memorial Trophy’ will be awarded to the winners of the cultural competition.

The CSU has invited ‘all frontal organizations, senior leaders, and well-wishers’ to the conference.

The organisation has also informed about ‘an official meeting’ that has been scheduled to be conducted on Jan. 5 at 12:00 noon at the president’s residence.

All the executive members, assembly organs and tribunals of the group have been requested to attend the meeting.
