CEM hold meeting with KASA officials for various sports events

Dimapur, August 21 (EMN): Karbi Anglong Autonomous council (KAAC) Chief Executive Member (CEM) and president, Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) Tuliram Ronghang held a meeting with KASA members at CEM bungalow on August 20 and chalked out various sports events to be conducted by KASA. As per schedule made during the meeting the Larsika Englengpi Memorial All Karbi Anglong Women Football Championship will be held at Dhansiri playground and will be hosted by Dhansiri Sports Association.
Again, the All Karbi Anglong Men Inter-Sub Association Football tournament will be held at Tumpreng in West Karbi Anglong district by Tumpreng Sports Association.
And, the Karbi Anglong Inter-Club Football Championship will be held at Langpi in West Karbi Anglong.
Besides the two events the All Karbi Anglong Inter-Sub Association Cricket tournament and the All Karbi Anglong Athletic Meet will be held at Diphu which to be hosted by Greater Diphu Sports Association (GDSA).
It also discussed that all KASA referees must bring Sub-Association clearance to appear in the annual fitness test. All the non active Sub-Associations under KASA will be scanned and from now atleast two sports events are made mandatory for participation in KASA calendar events. Those Sub-Associations without showing any activities and for them funding and other assistance will be stopped from KASA and District Sports Office. The KASA has also taken decision to conduct sports workshop in promoting sports activities in the district.
The All Karbi Anglong Volleyball Championship will be held at Langpi in West Karbi Anglong district. All the sports and games events chalked out will be held during the month of September.
From this year, awards like best sports person of the year, best Sub-Associations under KASA, best team and individual awards will be given by KASA with a view to develop sports in the district. KASA general secretary Pankaj Teron and sectional secretaries were present.
