With the deadline, served on the state government to finalize pending issue and lift the ban imposed on its proposed conference, expired on April 25 the Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) has called a silent procession tomorrow at Tuensang headquarters.
All the business establishments, schools and colleges will remain closed till the culmination of the procession. However, government and medical establishments have been exempted from the preview.
“The confederation has always been co-operative on its part and indeed was confident on the state government appointed mediators. However, besides repeated appeals and reminders for a judicious and peaceful solution, the matter at hand remains stagnant creating more confusions and distortions in the mind of the common lots,” stated a press note issued by CCSU President Imtichoba and Speaker Nokching Somba.
The CCSU noted that the confederation’s stand on its demand is purely democratic and justifiable in all means and ways and shares its confidence with all the concerned under its jurisdiction.
Stating that the scheduled silent procession is intended as the first phase of its resentment and agitation, the CCSU said, failing to get any positive response, the union will be compelled to resort to more intensive and continuous agitations in a phase wise manner.
The union said, during the entire course of agitation, the confederation disowns the responsibility of any negative development.
