Cathriona White Committed Suicide with Jim Carrey’s Prescription Pills

Law enforcement officials discovered that Cathriona White, 28, died due to a toxic drug overdose on prescription pills, the bottles still left by her bedside. But they weren’t her own: the bottles were prescribed to a “fictional male” — an alias reportedly used by Jim Carrey, 53, her on-and-off boyfriend since 2012. Cathriona allegedly took Jim’s medicine in order to take her own life.
When Cathriona was discovered dead by suicide on September 28, she had three prescription bottles next to her, all prescribed by the same doctor: Ambien (sleep aid), Percocet (a strong painkiller) and Propranolol (blood pressure/heart medication).
However, none of those pills were prescribed to Cathriona. The pills were reportedly prescribed to Jim under an alias, according to law enforcement officials who spoke to TMZ. Many celebrities use aliases for sensitive matters (like receiving prescriptions) so their private information is not shared. It’s unclear how Cathriona allegedly got the medication from Jim, or why she would take it; police would like to interview the actor, according to TMZ.Though authorities do know that Cathriona committed suicide by overdose, they are not sure yet what combination of the drugs killed her. They’re still waiting on a toxicology report to confirm that information. Her tragic death was discovered on September 28, when two friends visited her house and found her dead, along with a suicide note allegedly referencing Jim. The two had just broken up on September 24.
To Cathriona’s nearest and dearest, her suicide was devastating, but not entirely unexpected; the makeup artist had been suffering from severe depression her entire life. Like many individuals living with depression, she would go through periods of leveled emotions, then dip back into dark times. Unfortunately, Cathriona couldn’t escape the deep depressive state she was in this September, and ultimately succumbed to her illness.
At the time of her death, Cathriona was also allegedly enrolled in a Church of Scientology “Survival Rundown” program, a physically demanding ordeal in which members have to undergo a “Purif” or purification ritual, and complete “objectives” (intense physical exercises). In doing so, Scientologists believe they are detoxing their bodies and can accomplish anything. Friends of Cathriona’s who spoke to journalist Tony Ortega said that she was in the midst of her “objectives” trial at the time of her suicide.
