Dimapur, March 19 (EMN): After securing what it called a “positive assurance” by the government’s Cabinet Sub-Committee on the issue of revised pay, the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA) has decided to call off their proposed agitation.

The CANSSEA issued a communiqué on Sunday informing about the development which emerged from a meeting of the group with members of said committee on March 19.

“The Cabinet Sub-Committee and the office bearers of all state services associations held a joint meeting on 19th March, 2017 at Hotel Japfu for threadbare discussion on the issue of effective date of implementation of 7th RoP (Revision of Pay),” the CANSSEA stated.

“It concluded with a positive assurance by the Cabinet Sub-Committee that the matter will be taken up in all sincerity in the state cabinet immediately.”

This was followed by a separate meeting of the state services associations “wherein it was resolved to request the government to convey its decision at the earliest,” the organisation stated.

“In view of the above development, the proposed agitation is temporarily suspended. The office bearers of all the state services associations shall hold a meeting on 23rd March, 2017 at 4 PM in the conference hall of CANSSEA for further consultation.”
