Dimapur, Feb.19: Sunday saw a respite for Dimapurians, particularly for traders who had hassle-free transaction since morning. It was a different atmosphere for them to be able to operate for a day without any restricted timing.

However, traders are worried with the way business has been hit for over a week because of the bandh and the irregular timing for business transaction. The vegetable vendors, restaurants owners and confectionaries expressed concerned as they have to sit idle till the bandh is lifted or any further permanent relaxation is announced.

People waiting in queues outside ATMs expressed worry if the ATMs run out of cash and LPG cooking gas being sold by some individuals at a higher rate on the pretext of limited because of the present situation.

Butchers have edge over other traders as they are not affected by the bandh. With the given specific bandh timing, butchers shared it was convenient for them to close their trade once the bandh is enforced. Butchers said and they procured meats according to how much they could sell within the free timing for business.

A few traders were clueless behind on the ongoing bandh. Their perception about the bandh was because of ‘elections.’ However, their only concern was to resume their business without any hurdle and normalcy to return soon.
