Diphu, Dec. 7 (EMN): Christmas is a time of sharing love, forgiveness, peace and brotherhood among one another. To be able to celebrate a pure Christmas people should be clean at heart, but in this materialistic world people tend to gain more importance on worldly things to celebrate Christmas, Vicar General, Diphu diocese of Believers Church, Rongjangphong Rev. Fr. N Khumba said during the Pre-Christmas celebration at Bridge of Hope (BOH) study centre at Kakoti Ronghang village, on Dec. 5, Tue.
The pre-Christmas celebration has been organised by BOH, Kakoti Ronghang village study centre of Believers Church, Rongjangphong, Diphu.
The BOH of Believers Church is a study centre, where underprivileged school children studying in different schools come together in the evening and are helped to study whatever lessons are being taught in their respective classes. Study materials including uniforms, umbrellas, school bags and blankets for winter are also given children from the BOP.
Rev. Fr. Khumba lamented that in present day, worldly attachment is given more importance and people are becoming short sighted about the celebration of Christmas. To many people celebration of Christmas means feasting, having new cloths and decorated houses. But the real Christmas should be clean at heart, forgiveness and building up peace in order to accept Christ in own hearts, he said.
“Christ do not ask from us to have decorated homes, good dresses and big feasts, but whast he wants from us is clean heart and soul to be able to accept him,” Rev. Fr. Khumba said.
Rev. Fr. Kumba urged the gathering to be more forgiving, peaceful and repentance to make this Christmas more meaningful.
