Border Peace Committee will be floated soon

The Border Peace Committee in the Daldoli, Lahorijan, Rangapahar areas was well echoed by various speakers during the brotherhood border peace meeting held at Sunday bazaar ground NH 36 near Patrol Post Check Gate, Lahorijan Assam (near Rilan village) on Saturday.
Creating proper understanding and mutual respect for people living in the border villages of Daldoli, Lahorijan, Rangapahar areas and living as good neighbour, having accommodative spirit and co-existence from all the concerned was the centre of discussion. Dy. SP Border Assam, Rupeshwar Borgohain said that Border Peace Committee would be formed within this month, which would be held at Rangapahar. He also advocated that more activities should take place between Assam and Nagaland especially people living in the border areas so that people get to know each other which in turned would create peace in the region.
The meeting was initiated by the Officer In charge of Dillai police station Haokam Changsan in the presence of Dy SP Border Rupeshwar Borgohain and D.R Rongpi Ranger Rangapahar forest reserve area and 2nd OC West PS Zuchamo Lotha, UNTBA chairman Hukhuvi Yepthomi and host of public leaders from both side of the border. Haokam Changsan in his speech was off the opinion that unless people living in the border areas unite together no peace could be achieved.
Settlement in the border area do not necessarily come from top level but it should be achieve from the grassroot level first than there would be lasting peace.
D.R Rongpi Ranger Rangapahar forest reserve area stressed on the need to preserve the forest areas.
UNTBA Chairman Hukhuvi Yepthomi spoke in length on the need to form Border Peace Committee in the area and the idea behind forming the UNTBA. He expressed hoped that under the able leadership of Haokam Changsan OC Dillai PS something tangible result would be achieved in the days to come.
Zuchamo Lotha 2nd OC West P.S in his short exhortation thanked Haokam Changsan OC Dillai PS for taking such noble initiative in gathering people from both the borders in such a manner for the first time in the area.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Ntsemo Ngullie advisor Lotha Core Committee, Joysingh Dimung Thana president Dillai Assam, T. Sebu Rengma, Chairman Rengma bosti Lahorijan, Nribemo Ovung VCC Rilan village, Himaqri Killin Nahorijan Govt. GB, Yanben Mozhui VCC Senjum village and Kika Pongen Secretary VCC Aoyimkhum village. Earlier the programme was chaired by Sebastian Ezung, invocation by Thunglanbemo Ezung Associate Pastor Senjum Village Baptist Church.
