Dimapur, Feb. 10 (EMN): Amidst accusations from various quarters that BJP is a political wing of religious fanatic group, the party national executive member from Nagaland Johny G Rengma clarified that BJP is a secular party in India.
In an attempt to allay apprehension on the BJP ideologies, Rengma stated that India as a secular country all political parties should be secular in their ideologies. He stated that no religious organisations including Christians should be non-secular as long as the people remain as citizens of secular democratic republic of India.
He added that non-secular leaders/ politicians should not be accepted by the Election Commission of India according to the constitution of India. He added that election is a fundamental principle of a secular democratic India and is respected as an important festival of democracy.
