The facilities of the playing area, and the pitches, inside the Nagaland Cricket Stadium at Dimapur were given a nod of approval by the BCCI appointed East Zone Curator, Ashish Bhowmick on Friday last, when he came visiting.
According to a press release from the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), Bhowmick, who is also a member of the BCCI pitches and grounds committee, “observed that the facilities of the playing area are in excellent condition and said that the pitches were even better than Ranji Trophy venues in other parts of the region.” The official also complimented the NCA for maintaining the playing area in a commendable manner. He also held a meeting with the NCS officials and interacted with players of the ongoing T20 tournament organised by Spring Club, Dimapur.
Bhowmick was briefed about the status of the playing infrastructure and ground condition by NCA officials and the difficulties faced by the NCA in maintaining the present infrastructure.
Bhowmick, who is also the Joint Secretary of the Tripura Cricket Association, assured that Tripura would extend all possible assistance to Nagaland. He further assured that his association would train curators and groundsmen from Nagaland at their association’s facilities.
