Ayushman Bharat launched across Nagaland

Dimapur, Sep. 24 (EMN): Along with the rest of the country, the Ayushman Bharat (National Health Protection Mission) or Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) was launched across the state on September 23. A press release from the Department of Information and Public Relations informed.

Regarded as the world’s largest state-funded health insurance scheme, the programme aims to provide free secondary and tertiary healthcare to 50 cr. people across the country

The state’s Directorate of Information and Publicity (DIPR) extensively covered the launching programme in all over the state which was made available to the media houses on Monday.

Longleng

The deputy commissioner (DC) of Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam launched the scheme at the DC’s video conferencing hall. Sangtam requested everyone to provide correct information and details while registering for the AB-PMJAY scheme in order to avoid dissent in the future and to help the targeted groups benefits from the scheme. DC also distributed the golden records (e-cards) to the beneficiaries.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Kongyan Phom said that the programme is cashless and paperless and can be availed from any of the empanelled public or private hospitals across the country.

Peren

DC of Peren, S Tainiu, launched the mission at District Hospital Peren. The DC appealed public leaders, NGOs, students, and youth to cooperate for the successful implementation of the programme.

Deputy CMO Dr. Supongmenla said that family unit under the scheme will comprise all members in the family. It is a health packages comprising of treatment for almost all secondary and tertiary ailments, she added.

Kiphire

Advisor to Fisheries, Economics, Evaluation and Statistics, L Khumo Khiamniungan, launched the programme at New Hospital Complex. Also, DC Mohammed Ali Shihab, mentioned that Kiphire district is fortunate to have such a programme. Further, he informed that there is a shortage of doctors and lack of proper infrastructure in the hospital and requested the advisor to look into the matter.

Zunheboto/ Suruhuto: DC Shanavas, while launching the programme at the District Hospital Zunheboto, said that the quality health care should be provided to everyone. He encouraged citizens to work together and give support to the department concerned.
