Dimapur, March 26 (EMN): The National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland unit has expressed amusement at the state government’s decision to axe the PDA membership of three NPP leaders and “withdrawal of namesake ‘minister of state’ status to the NPP leaders.”

A press statement from the party on Tuesday claimed that the PDA government was feeling “ever more insecure as the NPP is creating waves in the national political scene” especially in North East region.

It went on to claim that it was “because of this strong forward-looking policies that the NPP Nagaland unit decided to even sacrifice two of our MLAs for the 26 Aonglenden assembly constituency and the NPP, Nagaland unit also boldly decided to field a young and dynamic leader for the lone Lok Sabha seat from Nagaland.”

It stated that the party’s ideology comes first and the people of Nagaland, “their socio-economic-religious and political future,” remains at the core of the NPP, Nagaland unit.

“Through our bold actions in fielding candidates to the by-election and LS elections, the NPP Nagaland unit want to assert that we are here to stay and we want to give a message to the Naga people that they can trust in us because of our strong ideology.

“Therefore, the removal of the NPP leaders from the PDA government and a chairmanship did not come as a surprise. The party was and is prepared for any eventuality. The party is willing to go to any extend to ensure that the interests of the people is not compromised in any manner because of want of money or position. The NPP is a mature political party and it will go the extra mile so that the Naga people will also grow at par with the rest of the country and play a positive role in ensuring peace and prosperity for the people,” the statement read.
