Dimapur, Jan. 5 (EMN): Inaugurating a new village namely ‘Kenyarü,’ under Chessore sub-division in Tuensang district, advisor of labour and employment, skill development and entrepreneurship, R Tohanba, has urged the pioneers and village authorities to imbibe moral integrity, uprightness and truthfulness in order to guide the villagers in the right path.

Speaking at the inaugural function on January 5, Tohanba stated that establishment of a new village and getting government recognition is not an end in itself but the beginning of a long journey to build an ideal and permanent settlement for all villagers, irrespective of age or gender.

The government has recognised ‘Kenyarü,’ a Yimchungrü village sharing boundary with a couple of Sumi villages under Aghunato sub-division.

Congratulating Keyanrü villagers for establishing a new village, Tohanba said establishment of a new village and getting government recognition was not an end in itself but the beginning of a long journey to build an ideal and permanent settlement for all villagers, irrespective of age or gender.

Tohanba stated that setting up of new villages has become a necessity with increase in population. He has urged the pioneers and founders of the new village to keep in mind the immense responsibilities thrust upon them to lead the villagers toward a better and more meaningful existence.

“Only when the villagers practice humbleness, tolerance and spirit of giving and sharing at home, they can expect to earn respect from others,” he said.

The advisor also advised the village authorities not to misuse the powers vested upon them but work with all humility for the welfare and development of the village as a whole.

Tohanba said Keyanrü villagers are blessed as they have settled in one of the most fertile lands of the Yimchungrüs and with plenty of scopes to develop economic and social ties with neighbouring villages and tribes. He also conveyed gratitude to neighbouring Sumi villages for attending the celebration.

He further urged the villagers not to live in isolation but to develop and maintain harmonious and peaceful co-existence with neighbouring villages.

EAC Shamator, Limakhumla Pongener, on behalf of the district administration, congratulated Keyanrü villagers for getting government recognition of the new village.

BDO Chessore, S Lakiumong, in his welcome, gave a brief profile of the new village.

Host of elders and GBs including head GBs of Zheshemi and Ngozubomi (Sumi villages) and head GBs of Chessore, Huker, Kephor and Ayiponger villages and president of Yimchungrü Tribal Council, K Keozih, also greeted Keyanrü villagers on the occasion.
