ATMAs exhibits local produces in Dimapur, Phek

ATMA 2Dimapur, August 17 (EMN): ATMA Dimapur organised an exhibition cum sale day on August 15 at DDSC stadium, with an objective to strengthen and disseminate the latest technological advancements and techniques in Agri and allied sectors at the district level. The exhibition saw participation from Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Soil & Water Conservation, Land Resources, Co-operative, KVK, Jharnapani and Veterinary & Animal Husbandry where they exhibits and sold different finish products and materials. Modern agricultural machineries, tools and implements were exhibited to create awareness to the farmers and also to the general public.
Department of Sericulture displayed shawls made from silk yarn and different cocoons and yarns in various colour. Women in Agriculture under the department of Agriculture took up the initiative to display varieties of vegetables and other finished goods which they produced through their hard work.
KVK, Jharnapani distributed pamphlets on organic farming, rearing of animals and new technology to enhance a normal husbandry and agriculture products. High yielding variety seeds suitable in the sate were also displayed. Other items on display were handicrafts from co-operation department. V&AH and Fishery Department sold kurilor and fishes at a very subsidized rate. Organic pineapple was displayed by Horticulture department
The chief guest, Dr. Imtiwapang Aier, NLA speaker inaugurated the ATMA exhibition stall. He visited the stalls and interacted with the department of Agri-allied and SHGs under ATMA.
Meanwhile, Phek ATMA in collaboration withDepartment of Horticulture, Phek district organised exhibition-cum-sales under the theme “Self Help Group products and produces,” on August 15 at, Local Ground, Phek town.
Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Neiba Kronu, along with Deputy Commissioner of Phek Kovi Meyase and other dignitaries visited stalls and interacted with SHGs members. Various home made products, fruits and vegetables were exhibited.
