DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 9

The NSCN (IM) has once again pointed fingers at the Assam Rifles while accusing that the paramilitary force has adopted a “policy to defame the good image and positive structure and governance of the NSCN/GPRN.” This accusation from the NSCN (IM) comes in the backdrop of a “at the office of the Dimapur Town Command and the arrest of its 6 (six) cadres” by the 32 Assam Rifles on October 7 midnight. In a press release issued today, the NSCN (IM) stated that such “nefarious designs and ill motive” from the Assam Rifles have, however, failed to bear any witnesses. “These incidences have serious ramifications that must be looked into, considering the initiative towards a lasting final solution. It is a breach of trust and violation of agreed ceasefire ground rules which have created confusion to the level of confidence and momentum that have been built up between the Nagas and the GOI.
“While condemning the raids at different places and arrest of our cadres the NSCN/GPRN reminds the AR that it’s an era of peace and not confrontation and we are deeply committed to the ongoing political dialogue which have entered its crucial phase and is inching towards final settlement. At the same time, it also urges the AR to exhibit political maturity if at all they honor the ongoing political talks.”
It further condemned the AR raids at the residences of Tatar Viyeto Sumi, located at Burma Camp on the last week of September, Leacy ofUT-l, Saul located at Burma Camp on October 5 last, Dy. Kilonser Khotso at Sochiinoma village October 6 last and Razoupeyu Tino at Chumukidema on October 8 last.
