Dimapur, Nov. 3 (EMN): Troops of 32 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 6 Sector AR, HQ IGAR (N) conducted an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) rally cum medical camp on November 3 in Dimapur with the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Limasunep Jamir, as the chief guest.
Addressing the Ex-Servicemen and family, Jamir acknowledged that uniformed service is not an easy job but fills with struggles as they have to sacrifice to maintain peace in the society. However, he reminded them that it is through their service that the society is able to reside in peace.
“We are all in service today but one day we will be ex-serviceman and we must continue to uphold the famous maxim ‘work is worship,’ conveyed the Commissioner. Taking opportunity of the presence of ex-servicemen and family, he urged upon them to encourage their family to come forward and serve the nation.
“In civil departments they do not provide sincere service but men in uniform do not shy away from providing sincere sense of duty and continue not to run away or shy away from struggles,” remarked Jamir.
He also assured the AR fraternity that the district administration will try to address their issues from now onwards.
