Dimapur, August 7 (EMN): Security meetings were conducted at HanumanTop COB of 45 Assam Rifles, Chandrakhong COB of 2 Assam Rifles and Andro COB of 6 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) on August 6 & 7.
The meetings were attended by local of the area including prominent personalities of various Youth Clubs, village head men, village secretaries and MeiraPaibis organisation. The aim of the meetings was to discuss all the security aspects and necessary measures to be undertaken by locals in synergy with Assam Rifles. The requirement to keep vigilant in the area in view of upcoming Independence Day and Panchayati Elections was stressed upon.
The Battalions provided this platform to the villagers to discuss their perspective of security situation in their area and to encourage them to come up with suggestions to improve synergy between Security Forces and the local populace. Small medical camp was also organised at Hanuman Top COB to provide basic health check up to the needy people.
