The All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) and Nagaland Secondary Schools Field Officers Forum (NSSFOF) have alleged that inspite of repeated request for smooth flow of the department through bifurcation, government remained adamant and nothing has been initiated so far.
In this connection, a joint meeting of the two organizations on April 26 unanimously decided to serve a 20-day-ultimatum to the government for redressal of the issue. “The two organizations had an in-depth discussion on the matter and convinced that total bifurcation is the only permanent solution to the chronic problems of the department,” stated the ultimatum served to the Commissioner & Secretary Govt. of Nagaland, Department of School Education, by NSSFOF Convener Mezhu-U Hozoyeh and Secretary Kevitsiano Luho, and ANSTA President Ponchulo Wanth and general secretary Visato Koso.
The ultimatum said, in order to promote a peaceful and conducive working environment for both the cadres of secondary/elementary and higher secondary schools so as to produce quality education, the concerned organisations had submitted several representations to the government along with justifications for bifurcation of the two cadres to function independently.
