Annual NCC training camp at St. Joseph college

Dimapur, Nov. 14 (EMN): Altogether 293 National Cadet Corps (NCC) girl cadets along with associate NCC officers and PI staff are attending the annual training camp of 1 Nagaland (G) Bn. NCC, Kohima at St. Joseph college, Jakhama. The training camp which commenced from Nov. 8 will continue till the Nov. 17.
The 1 Nagaland (G) Bn NCC, Kohima has planned a number of activities for the Cadets for their overall development which includes imparting of military training on subjects like drill with arms, map reading, physical training, field craft and battle craft and weapon training, stated a press release received here on Wednesday.
The Training also encompasses subjects of social importance that include national integration, motivation to join armed forces, leadership training, career planning and general health and hygiene.

Competitions under various categories i.e. quiz, basketball, tent pitching, firing, drill, map reading, line area cleanliness have also been included to inculcate the spirit of competitiveness amongst the cadets.

Guest lectures by eminent personalities and specialists also form a part of the training curriculum which includes disaster management, drug abuse, HIV Aids and other health related issues.
