Dimapur, July 20 (EMN): The All Nagaland Government College Teachers’ Association (ANGCTA) along with the rest of the colleges and universities throughout the country observed a sit in dharna on July 19 to register their protest against the attack on the ministry of Human Resource Development on the democratic system of education.

A press release appended by the ANGCTA President Lily Angami and General Secretary Dr. Kekhrieseno Christina informed on Friday that the All India Federation of University and College Teachers’ Organisation (AIFUCTO) decided to wage a relentless struggle against the central government and their ‘neo-liberal’ assault on education as observed in the draft proposal of the Higher Education Commission of 2018, thereby profoundly destroying the democratic vision of education dreamt by the founding members of the Indian Constitution.

‘Further, the association will continue to support any follow up activities taken up in the near future by AIFUCTO pertaining to this issue,’ the press release added.
