Kohima, Feb. 15: Drawing attention to the NPF’s scathing statement on NTAC convenor KT Vilie, stating that he was the official PS to MP Neiphiu Rio and that “his game plan was obvious”, the Northern Angami Public Organisation (NAPO) has clarified that KT Vilie was selected by the NAPO to represent its people in the Angami Public Organisation (APO) for his capable and efficient leadership with high integrity. “The NAPO has not chosen him to be our leader because he was once PS to Rio, the former chief minister of Nagaland. Further, NPF Central should know that Vilie was selected by the APO to lead the Angami community as well as NTAC, Kohima for his able leadership. Therefore, the allegations against him were baseless and direct challenge to our community and Nagas as a whole,” a press release from NAPO stated. It reminded the NPF Central to “eschew its disdainful habit of frequently jumping in and politicizing genuine issues” that concern the people of Nagaland and also not to mislead the people with such unfounded allegations which, it felt, only portrayed the “shallowness and immaturity of their politicking”. The NAPO further reaffirmed its stand to continue giving full support to the leadership of KT Vilie “for bringing about our better future”. AYO In a press release issued on Tuesday last, the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) also took umbrage at the NPF singling out KT Vilie. “We are deeply offended by the act of engineering personal attack on Mr KT Villie, the vice president, APO and now the convener of NTAC as he was once upon a time official PS to former chief minister of Nagaland. “NPF central be warned that he is selected by the Angami people to lead and represent our community in the Angami and NTAC levels. Therefore, allegations levelled against him are a direct challenge to our tribe itself and the Nagas at large,” it stated. It also observed that the NPF had the shameless audacity to ‘brand the much respected Naga tribal bodies who are sincerely working to salvage our people as a matter of sheer adulterated comedy.’ “NPF Central today stands condemned for holding the illusion that a mass public movement cannot shake the government for its unjust, manipulative and scheming policies. “This had happened in human public movements across the world. The voice of the people can never be suppressed. The government today is acting like Hitler Nazi Germany era employing all subversive measures and propaganda to the extent of unleashing murderous state sponsored terror.” Dismissing the NPF’s claim as ‘a representation of their deranged mind’, the APO also reiterated that it does not condone any ‘political interferences in this movement.’
