Dimapur, March 26 (EMN): Symbolising the suffering of Lord Jesus carrying His cross to mount Calvary, Angami Catholic Youth Association (ACYA) observe “Way of the Cross” on March 25 at Cathedral Church site, Kohima.

Medoneisa Marcus, president ACYA, in welcoming the believers urged the faithful to reflect and meditate on the agony of Lord Jesus carrying His cross to Mount Calvary. He said ‘Way of the Cross’ is one of the best ways for the Catholic to experience the sufferings of Lord Jesus and His Love for us. He said ‘Way of the Cross’ is practiced by the faithful Catholic.

After ‘Way of the Cross,’ a thought for reflection was delivered by spiritual director of ACYA Rev. Fr. Vemedo Joseph Kezo who exhorted the youth to be always prompt to say yes to the Holy Spirit.

‘Evangelisation in the church was brought by the youth. It was not by the priests, pastors, nuns but by the zealous youth. Therefore, youth are commissioned to evangelise in each own respective parishes or villages, Kezo said adding youths are the backbone of the church and the society and youth are the future leaders.

The programme was chaired by Kevizase Edward, ACYA representatives to Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM), while Medochü-o Martin invoked God’s blessing and Petekhriezo Francis, catechist, SFS Church, pronounced the benediction.

Altogether, 145 faithful delegates from five Angami Catholic Regions participated in the ‘Way of the Cross’ which marks the 40 days of Lenten Season (where the Catholics ardently observed the passion of our Lord Jesus and His Triumphant victory over sin).
