Eastern Mirror Desk Dimapur, Feb. 23: Popular singer from Nagaland, Alobo Naga and his band members, who were travelling to perform at the International Film Festival in Itanagar on Feb. 22 evening, were at the receiving end of the mob’s fury. According to a social media update from Naga, the band ended up losing property worth INR 25 lakh, including music equipments and a car, in the violence. He told Eastern Mirror that “during our sound check, the situation became bad and there was violence just outside our hotel; a mob was attacking every car passing through the road so we had to keep our cars and instruments at the venue thinking it will be safe since there were police personal stationed there. "We tried to go to our hotel on foot but unfortunately we were stuck in the middle between the mob and the police. We struggled for over two hours, taking shelter at random houses since bullets, stones and tear gas were flying all over. Finally, after three to four hours, we managed to enter our hotel through the help of some locals. Suddenly around 2 am the mob went to the venue and burnt down all the cars, stage, and sound system.” He informed that the band have arranged a taxi to bring them home “if situation allows.”
