AKM to keep Survival Mkg goals alive

Dimapur, August 12 : The Ao Students’ Conference has warned individual or groups against harboring illegal immigrants for any reason of vested interest or gain. The organization assured that it ‘would not spare its rod and treat them as traitors of the land.’

The Ao students’ apex issued a press release on Friday. “The Ao Students’ Conference is concerned about the parasitic infestation of illegal immigrants threatening the social fabric of the citizens of Mokokchung district…” the organization stated.
To ‘safeguard the traditional, cultural identity and ancestral land’ of the Ao, the organization started the anti-illegal immigrant campaign ‘Survival Mokokchung’ in the year 2007.

“The initiative to start this noble endeavor was invoke through a resolution during the Ao Students Conference general convention and thus AKM stands firm till this day to fight this evil design. Thus any individual or groups harboring these illegal immigrants by creating syndicate for self motivated interest and gains the AKM will not spare its rod and treated them as traitors of the land,” the Ao students’ apex stated.

Through said campaign, the press release stated, the AKM had ventured to educating and creating ‘awareness’ about the menace of illegal immigrants ‘who during those times had dominated the major economic spectra creating unwanted situation to both the local and genuine Indian businessmen,’ the note said.

The organization acknowledged the people of the district irrespective of tribe, creed, cast and religion who ‘rendered their valuable resources and the intellectuals whose wisdom has sensitized the people of Mokokchung district.’

“Your priceless service will be remembered in days to come,” the students stated.
