Agatha assures support to Naga peace talk

Dimapur, June 13 (EMN): The National People’s Party (NPP) Lok Sabha MP from Tura Constituency, Meghalaya, Agatha Sangma, has assured her support to the ongoing Naga peace talk for an early solution wherever and whenever necessary.
Agatha made this assurance to NPP delegation from Nagaland at the felicitation programme held on June 10. The delegation was led by State NPP president, Ato Yepthomi along with State executive members and youth leaders.

Agatha also assured her sincere commitment to consciously work for the people of Nagaland and Northeast.
Besides, she also committed to take up issues relating to socio-economic development, political environment, and education. She also encouraged the party members to stay committed to the party’s vision towards achieving the much required common dream for a pan Northeast political party.

In a press release, NPP general secretary (Org.), Sasank Ghatraj, stated that State unit NPP felicitated Agatha on her landmark victory over former chief minister of Meghalaya, Mukul Sangma, in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election.

It added that the State leaders have reaffirmed confidence on her leadership and for her unflinching commitment to the people and its land. The leaders described her as the representation of a pan Northeast identity and voice for the tribal community, minorities and vulnerable section of the society.

The party leaders also expressed confidence that the concept of ‘One voice, One Northeast’ would enabled people from all different states despite the cultural and language barriers to have a common belonging and co-exist. They further elaborated on the concerns and challenges the party faced in the state and reaffirmed their committed spirit to work towards the vision of a better and developed North Eastern Union.
