Advisor Yanthan tours Sanis constituency; interacts with public

Dimapur, June 24 (EMN): Advisor for Horticulture Mhathung Yanthan, MLA from 39th Sanis assembly constituency, accompanied by entourage of officials from different departments undertook an official tour of the constituency and held a series of public interactions.

An e-mailed press release received here on Sunday, while terming the said tour as ‘a rare but concerned step’, stated that 15 villages viz., Pangti, Sungro , Ashaa , Sunglup , Yonchgucho , Sanis, Meshangpen, Tsopo, Morakjo, Longtsung , Chudi , Lotsu , Pyangsa, Moilan, Pyotchu were covered during the tour.

Stating that Advisor Yanthan “on the second leg of his official tour,” visited almost every village under his constituency engaged with the people and sensitized them about the various schemes and the functioning of the government offices in their respective areas.

Besides, the advisor also ascertained the public problems, wished and aspirations while the accompanying officers also informed and cleared the “misnomers and queries” causing developmental gaps with regard to their respective departments, the release stated.

The advisor also stated to have interacted with the public and inquired about the working of the schools, health and angandwadi centres under the villages.
During an interacting it was learnt that the average general complaint was about ‘bad road condition, non presence of teaching and medical staffs in their respective work stations, lack of staff quarters of various departments and lack of proper water supply’.

“In some of the villages the communication gap between the village council authority and the concerned departments were also ironed out and the informed village authorities were made aware of the actions to be taken up (sic),” stated the release.

It also informed that the final day of the tour culminated with a review and update meeting at the SDO Office, Sanis. In this meeting, the advisor addressed the officers for ‘future coordination and engaged with the officers in discussing the various departmental limitations facing the departments under the subdivision in carrying out their duties’.

The advisor, on his official tour, was accompanied by government officials – posted under Sanis ADC Hq – from the district administration, DRDA Wokha, Rural Development, Soil Department, NSRLM, Irrigation and Flood Control, Forest Department, Agri Department, PHED, Sanis (Wokha), PWD, Electrical, Horticulture Department and Education department etc.
