Members of the Nagaland Adolescent Girls’ Club and others in Kohima on May 24.

Dimapur, May 24 (EMN): The local club of Nagaland Adolescent Girls’ honored its members for their success in High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination this year. The programme was held at the Christ King Higher Secondary School of Kohima on May 24. A press release from the State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) informed on Thrusday.
The assistant state coordinator of SRCW R Juliana Medom spoke about the theme. She said that ‘hard work starts from the day one gets their results.’ She encouraged the students to excel in different avenues and choose their field based on their passion and not percentage. She urged them to make use of technology, surf internet and know about the various careers they want to pursue.
Further, Medom told the gathering that the club has been initiating programmes such as friendship fellowships, awareness drive on child sexual abuse, career guidance, skill development, cleanliness drives, and ‘good samaritan’ works. She added that she was proud of the girls.
The research officer of SRCW, Meneno V presided the programme and congratulated students for their success in the examination. Theme for the day was ‘there is no substitute for hard work.’ The programme was stated to have been organised as part of the Nagaland State Social Welfare Board. Altogether 129 students from various schools who are also the members of the club were with certificates of excellence.
