Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): The Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along Longkumer during the third year anniversary celebrations of Act of Kindness (AoK) said that the anniversary of AoK was the “most important function” he has attended since attaining office. This he said after the video screening of AoK showcasing the work they have been undertaking since 2015.

“What AoK has done is nothing extra ordinary – this is what should be done, legs and hands need to move to perform random acts of kindness,” he said.

Longkumer applauded the AoK team for relentlessly putting their mind, strength and soul to the work they do. “Youngsters these days tend to strike the wrong cord but the team has started a new beginning among the people and are not afraid to expose and do the right thing,” he acknowledged.

While admitting that aggression as a right to solve things was one of the main setbacks in the state, he reminded the gathering of the “great things” the AOK team was doing in making the society a better place and to try to duplicate them.

“Go back and wake up from your slumber, try to help with the little that you have, dream and work for others…great things are achieved by small gestures,” he concluded to the invitees gathered in the Don Bosco Institute of Development and Leadership (DBIDL) hall on April 14.

In commemoration of their third anniversary, AoK also released their book on poetry titled “The Bards of Magnus Opus” and a music video by Imsu Manen called “Best in me”. The poetry book features the work of 26 local poets whom have written the poems during the “Magnus Opus” events organised by AoK.

Administrator Dimapur Municipal Council Moa Sangtam after said that Nagas are “gifted with talent” but the only thing lacking was the promotion of talent. He appreciated the AoK team for promoting the talents of young local artists and by supporting them with whatever they could.
