Dimapur, Nov. 11 (EMN): The Acaut Nagaland has warned the government of Nagaland to desist from approving the regularisation of “hundreds of backdoor appointees” – as placed before the cabinet during its meeting at the chief minister’s office on Saturday.
This was stated through a press release from Acaut on Saturday. “The cabinet is warned that in case it goes ahead with the regularisation (the outcome of the meeting is yet to be known), it will be held guilty of contempt of court since the HC (High Court), Kohima Bench, has already stayed the contentious OMs (office memorandums) dated 4.8.2008 and 11.8.2016 allowing the government to regularise all backdoor appointments after 3 years of service.
“It may be mentioned that Court had stayed the OMs in its interim order dated 28.7.17 after a writ petition was filed by the ACAUT and PSAN challenging backdoor appointments made after 6th June 2016,” the Acaut statement read.
It demanded that the state cabinet issue an immediate clarification concerning at least seven points of discussion contained in the ‘cabinet memo’ pertaining to regularisation of backdoor appointments.
“In case the cabinet has already regularised the appointees, such will be nothing short of killing the future of thousands of Naga youths for which the chief minister and his cabinet colleagues will have to bear eventual consequences,” it warned.
