Dimapur, August 21 (EMN): Throwing the gauntlet down, ACAUT Nagaland has “invited” the chief minister and his council of ministers to come and speak at the public rally called by the anti-graft platform on August 25 next, in Dimapur’s Super Market area.
A press statement issued by ACAUT on Monday reasoned that “at this momentous juncture”, the chief minister and his council of ministers would avail the platform to address “all Nagas gathered from all parts of Nagaland”, and lay down a roadmap to combat corruption in the state ‘including (the) promise to stop the ongoing exercise of withdrawal of funds from the Finance department for vague/suspicious projects running into thousands of crore’.
It also informed that ‘overwhelming response’ in the districts has prompted the ACAUT to allow ‘youth and student bodies’ like Angami Youth Organisation, Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem, Zunheboto Town Youth Organisation, Rengma Selo Zi, Lotha Youth Hoho, Phek Town Youth Organisation, Zeme Students’ Union (Peren), and two chambers of commerce (Mon and Zunheboto) speak at the rally.
“The NTC, ENPO, and NCD would be part of the platform along with the following speakers: Khekiye K Sema, Z Lohe, Thepfulhouvi Solo, Peter Rutsa, Nitoka V Swu (PSAN Convenor). A student from Hope Academy, Dimapur, will highlight the difficulties faced by students due to bad roads and a collapsed bridge.
The C-Edge College and The Naga Blog both will read out poems during the function, and special numbers belted out by Colored Keys and The Challengers” it informed.
The rally is scheduled to begin at 3.30 pm on August 25 next, and participants have been requested to wear traditional attire, and also carry a candle each.
