Dimapur, Feb. 4 (EMN): The Nagaland unit of the Aam Admi Party (AAP) on Sun. announced that it was prepared to participate “if the common people welcome” the Nagaland assembly elections scheduled for Feb. 27.
An AAP statement on Sun. informed that ‘nomination of the candidates will continue’ if the polls were held as scheduled. It stated that the party was fully prepared to respond to the ‘current political situation’ in Nagaland.
“The party is committed to engage with the needs of the common people for the political transformation in the state. Seeing the deplorable political and social situation of the common people, AAP strongly aims to bring justice to the right of the common people by primary focus on social welfare scheme, roads, health centre and education. AAP assures the common people that if the party comes into power and if AAP leaders are elected, the above manifestos will be truly implemented,” the statement read.
Nomination of candidates, it informed, will be done in the next few days. “The party is prepared with all the candidates who would contest in the election. The party informs all the intending candidates to remain prepared with all the required information,” it added.
