Dimapur, May 18 (EMN): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of Nagaland has denounced the press statement which was stated to have been issued by one ‘self-styled AAP spokesperson,’ Dr. Lemwang Chuhwanglim in the print media on May 17.

A press statement received here on Friday signed by the party workers stated that the party is currently restructuring the party state executive council.

“The press statement released by self-styled AAP Spokesperson does not hold water and remains null and void since the meeting was attended by only 5 State Executive members without even intimating the supposed meeting to the other State Executive Members,” the press release stated.

AAP of state unit volunteers has vehemently condemned the act of Dr. Lemwang ‘for his personal benefit and tarnishing the image of Akavi N Zhimomi, senior AAP volunteer and founding member of AAP Nagaland and Sushil Kumar, advisor AAPN and the office of AAP Nagaland.’

The party said that it is ‘surprising and immature’ on the part of Dr. Chuhwanglim claiming as spokesperson and suspending senior AAP volunteer without any valid ground.

The party questioned that under whose authority Akavi N Zhimomi has been suspended without the endorsement of AAP Nagaland volunteers.

The party explicated that Zhimomi happened to meet Dr. Shurhozelie, and Sushil Kumar, former DAN (Democratic Alliance of Nagaland) who represented the JDU as one of the seven signatory members while coming down from Kohima for personal work. The meeting was ‘a friendly meet-up on the part Sushil and Akavi happened to accompany him. The meeting was never an official meeting and Akavi is yet to receive the letter from Dr. Shurhozelie,’ it stated.

The party clarified that the letter which has gone viral in the social media was addressed to Zhimomi and not to the office of AAP Nagaland.

“Surprisingly, the letter was leaked in the social media even before reaching Shri. Akavi which clearly reflects the malicious intention of some outside element to tarnish and defame the image of Shri.Akavi and Shri. Sushil,” it stated.

It also justified that the said letter was personal letter and not official letter as claimed by Dr. Chuhwanglim.

In this connection, the AAP has summoned Dr. Chuhwanglim in person to clarify his press statement within five days from the publication of the official press statement. The party has warned of stern action against him in case of failure.
