AAP denies meeting with NPF

Dimapur, May 16 (EMN): State unit of the Aam Admi Party (AAP) has denied holding any meeting with the Naga People’s Front (NPF) in connection with the ensuing Lok Sabha election in the state.

AAP spokesperson, Dr. Lemwang Chuhwanglim, testified that no members from the party were deputed to meet NPF’s president, Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, in the latter’s resident on May 10 as claimed.

AAP clarified that it has no intention or interest to support either NPF or NDPP in the upcoming Lok Shaba election. On the contrary, AAP Nagaland has accused NPF of indulging in the corrupt activities for the past 15 years, while it also accused NDPP and BJP alliance of working against its manifesto. AAP Nagaland affirmed that it would not support or have alliance with any political party indulging in corrupt practices.

AAP Nagaland stated that the reported meeting of Sushil Kumar and former candidate Akavi Zhimomi with Dr. Shurhozelie was without the consent of the party.

AAP Nagaland, in its executive meeting on May 15, has accused Sushil Kumar and Akavi Zhimomi of indulging in anti-party activities for their personal interest. The house, after deliberation, has decided to suspend Akavi Zhimomi with immediate effect till further notice. It also cautioned Sushil Kumar, who had reportedly withdrawn from the party after 2018 general election, against using the party’s name in the near future.

As the party believes in the right to vote for every citizen of the country, the party has wished all the political parties and the citizens of the state for a peaceful Lok Shaba election.
