A View on Present Crisis With Some Biblical Reflection

“The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden to till it and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man; you may freely eat of every tree of the garden; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat; for in the day that you eat of it you shall die.’ (Genesis 2:15-17).

“ Jacob said, sell me your birthright” Esau said,” I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me ? Jacob said,” Swear to me first” so he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank, and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright” (Gen.25:31-34). There are things which we are entrusted to do and things which we are forbidden to do.

The supersession or replacing Art.371A with 243T to provide backward Quota to Women nearly collapse the whole building. In Nagaland, its not the male counter forbidden the female counter to contest the election, but their low ego is stumbling them . The suggestions for accommodating women candidates without dismantling Art.371A were said to be put forwarded, but taking our family subject to the Court(s) by some mothers spearheaded by NMA is not appreciable exercise. Genesis 3 like incident nearly happen to Naga family once again but thank God that JCC, NTAC and tribal hohos came to our rescue and glad to see the woman who are acting like Sarojini Naidu to salvage the Naga society.

Naga people were supposed to be living as a Sovereign Nation as they were Sovereign people from the very beginning when God gave them the present Land. Nagas were not dominated by any Nations around us. We were Sovereign people until British extended their Administration to Naga areas as it was done to other Nations including India.

It’s very sad that a Sovereignty deserving Naga Nation scuffle like this for Article 371A of India. When the Naga Independence was declared a day ahead of them. The history will tell us whether the Nagas went under Indian Union as lazy frogs were gather in a man’s jute bag or someone became Iscariot Judas or Esau during or before transition. Many Naga youths have a question why the Memorandum submitted to Simon Commission in 1929 was not materialized ? The present social unrest is a light reminding to the blunder committed by Naga parents during 40s. The Nagas who are protesting to save the Art.371A at this fragile land is because they have experienced the Atrocities committed to them by Indian Army where Nagas have lost many thousands lives, their near and dear ones. The protesting hohos are not fighting for selfish interest, but for the safety of the people who are trying to dismantle the small shelter Indian Govt. provided to us.

Yet, if repeated blunder is committed, the violence, wars, lost of properties, lost of lives etc. will continue to explain your blunder. Let not committing plunders become the culture and tradition of Nagas. Art. 371A. protection Resolution should be passed in Nagaland Legislative Assembly soon. And Pilate’s replied like; “What I have written I have written,”(John 19:22) stone be erected to keep at widely visible places especially at Nagaland Legislative Assembly premises for all time practices and safety. For Nagas, Art.371A. is like a Goshen in the land of Egypt until our Sovereignty is fully restored to us.

Bible says; “He (God) reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” (Daniel 2:22). The King said to Daniel;” Truly, your God is God of gods and Lord of kings, a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this mystery !”(Daniel 2:47). We pray that this Spirit of God works with Naga Leaders. So that collective resolution for healing the wounded Naga society and protecting the Naga future will take place soon. May God Almighty guide the people of “Nagaland For Christ”. So that Social peace, Political stability, better development and Spiritual progress will arrive soon. May God bless the Nagas.
