Respected Sirs/ Madams,
With immense respect and humble submission, I would like to state that, I as an audience, am really frustrated regarding the recently conducted ‘All Nagaland Private Schools Skit Competition’.

But firstly, on a positive note I give kudos to the association for organizing such program to bring forth the different schools and talents of young enthusiastic students on a common platform.

Sitting behind the small screen, waiting for the mikes to turn on and the music to be played and as the curtains Parted, I saw young individuals with immense capabilities. Ranging from topics like, Sanitation and Technology to Substance’s abuse, all I could mutter was, ‘Talent and ability comes in the form of every shape, size, colour and age’. I don’t know about the other people but on my personal note I was motivated to a large extend.

However, one thing that I utterly disliked about the competition was the allotted time to the participants. Why would you allow the tick of a clock discourage the passions those young students posses. Seven minutes is too less to define a story, draw a message and re ignite a talent. Why would you allow the limit of time stop the power of a skit to reach a soul with a message? As the program came to an end, the only thing that every people grumbled was ‘Seven minutes is too less’. Dear Respected members, if you are to organize such competitions in the near future, I would shamelessly like to draw forward a humble request, extend the time, because taking into consideration the tons of lessons we were learning, me and my mates were ready to delve in that plastic chair for the whole day. I know We are living in a very busy world where time is but an essential factor, but sacrificing a day or an extra hour, and learning something new is not a waste of time but a time of realization and agreement. More than the story of the skit on the given theme, I saw young minds ready to flourish, lessons that can bring a change, hidden talents burning in inferno aroused from the daily barrier of regular school classrooms. More than anything, I saw young dynamic people with brand new ideas, that if only the world give them a little space, they can redefine the course of many lives. If only, you have given them a little more minutes, they wouldn’t have left the stage with unfinished tales and broken hearts.

Faithfully, Moali Pongen.
