The 4th Inter High Schools Meet 2015 organized by Mon Town Student’s Union (MTSU) has kicked off today at Local Ground Mon Town with Yangba Konyak, Superintendent of Police Mon as chief guest.
Speaking at the program, Konyak said that the purpose of the tournament is to provide a platform where all the students can exhibit their talents and skills and also to proceed further in the state level, national and international level. He also said while education is an all round development of mind and body, and so as, that games and sports also plays a very vital role in all round development.
Encouraging the participants to have determination, dedication and devotion, Konyak requested all the students to be a successful per and become law abiding citizens of the country.Alltogether 16 schools are participating at the tournament. The games which will be played at the tournament are Football (Male), Volleyball (Female), Sepak Takraw (Male), Athletic, Orientation and Literary Competition. The tournament will conclude on the 5th Sept. 2015.
Earlier the program was chaired by Leya Konyak and invocation was pronounced by YP David, Hospital Chaplain, Mon.
Welcome speech was delivered by T. Chingmei Konyak, President MTSU, special song was presented by Aman Konyak and oath taking by Nahpoh Konyak, Games and sports secretary MTSU followed by declaration of the tournament by the chief guest.
Former office bearer of the MTSU, Pioneer MTSU and teachers of various schools were present at the program.
