44th AR take medical charity to Orangkong village

Dimapur, Feb. 24: In an effort to reach out to the “medically deprived” sections of the society, the establishment of the 44th Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (North) organised a medical camp at Orangkong village in Longleng district on February 24.
The Assam Rifles issued a press release on Friday informing about the event.
Assistant Commandant Jubin Henry, medical officer and paramedical staff members of the 44th Assam Rifles treated 356 patients and distributed free medicines to the patients during the camp, the press release stated.“There being no hospital in near vicinity, locals of far flung area who are deprived of medical treatment facilities also turned up for treatment. The villagers conveyed their gratitude towards the unit for their efforts in looking after the medical needs of the local populace for providing treatment to the poor and under privileged at their door steps,” the press release added.
