Dimapur, June 29: One person has been arrested by Kohima police after the enforcement found on him four kilograms of opium in Kohima on Wednesday. The district’s police issued a note on Wednesday to offer updates about the arrest. On June 29, personnel of the Kohima police at the interstate check gate at Khuzama in Kohima district searched a taxi and found four kilograms of opium in liquid form. The taxi bore the registration number NL-01T-8857. The police arrested the person from whose possession the opium was found. He was identified as one Lalsat Mizo, a 54 year old from Saparmaina village in Manipur. “The illegal contraband was found neatly wrapped in four everyday milk packets when recovered by the police. In this connection a regular case vide Khuzama P.S Case No. 027/16 U/S 18 (b) NDPS Act is registered against the arrested person referred above for conducting further investigation,” the Kohima police informed.
