Getting exclusive with EM Style Spot, the stunning Veineinem Singson from Sirhima of Dimapur District, winner of the coveted Miss Nagaland 2014 crown at the 25th edition of the pageant (organized by Beauty and Aesthetics Society of Nagaland, BASN) spills the beans about her life post Miss Nagaland, Miss Diva Universe preparations, future aspirations and much more.
She now dreams of winning the Miss Diva Universe crown, making Nagaland proud and living up to the expectation of thepeople around her.

Eastern Mirror: As we all know Miss Nagaland is not your first win – you were also Miss MimKut& Miss Dimapur. With all the crowns you have won, looks like you’ve gotten good support from your family.
Veineinem Singson: Indeed! My parents have always been by my side supporting me and my four younger brothers never cease to motivate me. They have been and are a great push in all my walks of life.

EM: Miss “Beauty with a human touch” as they crowned you, would you like to tell us more about social work that you’ve been involved in or plan to be a part of?
VS: So far I haven’t started any social work because my final exams are approaching. But I’ve rendered my support wherever I can. Further, I am planning to reach the unreached.

EM: When did pageantry become an interest of yours? What made you want to enter into beauty pageants?
VS: It all started in 2014 when I won the prestigious title of Miss Mimkut. I further entered myself into more competitions with an aim to bring good name and recognition to my community.

EM: Apart from pageantry, what are your personal and professional goals for the future? Is pageantry and modeling something you want to pursue professionally, or is this just something you would do on the side?
VS: Besides fame and recognition, I’ve always wanted to become an administrative officer and I would still love to continue venturing more into glamour world without compromising my AIM. Time management is all that requires. Nothing is impossible.

EM: How does the crown make a difference to your life? What change would you love to bring to the society?
VS: All the prestigious TITLES have been a source of blessing and inspiration to me, my family and my community. Above all I found my way to encourage people that ‘everything is possible with God and there’s nothing better than being humble and true’. It taught me moralvalues….. Our society can change when we change our pursuit towards life. We can have improvement in economy by taking up entrepreneurship as a careern start making use of what we get in our homeland with our own people supporting one another.

EM: Post the Miss Nagaland pageant; are you more fashion and image conscious?
VS:No, I am not so conscious about fashion; I love to wear what is comfortable. On the other hand I won’t deny that I’m conscious about my image. But, struggling and enduring criticism for a good cause is something I always appreciate.

EM: What does fashion mean to you?
VS:Fashion according to me is an expression of our own unique identity. It exhibits who we are as a person. I have high regard for every kind of fashion n trends. It solely depends on our taste. As for me, I don’t want to try anything that makes me look awkward.

EM: Tell us something that most people don’t know about you?
VS:(Hahaha….) I don’t know if I can say this, but I am pretty good at threading ornaments. I do Kuki traditional necklace and a few western designs on necklaces and earrings.
