2nd Summer Sixer Cricket Tournament underway

Mokokchung, June 27 (EMN): In a generous move, to visiting Mokokchung District jail, the Titans cricket club has organised the second edition of Summer Sixer Cricket Tournament at Imkongmeren Sports Complex here today. Altogether fourteen teams are participating in the tourney which will culminate on June 29.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, chief guest L.Temjen, former NLA Member & State Executive Member, BJP Nagaland challenged the participants to let this tourney be the starting point where they start their cricket career to reach the horizon they dream and aspire, while citing that every star in sports start from small events like this. He encouraged the player to be consistency and dedicated to hone their skills while pursuing their career in sports. He further lauded the Titans clubs for their benevolent gesture to do something for the society and said let other NGOs also emulate the bold act shown by cricket club.
Also, guest of honour Er Chubatoshi, president of Mokokchung District Cricket Association (MDCA), spoke at the programme. He encouraged the participants to be an ambassador for cricket. He added that Titans Club, formed in the year 2009 is one of the proactive clubs in the district and has won four prestigious titles including the MDCA silver jubilee tournament. He further said that Titans has not only shown the club outshine in the district but also brought many laurels during their participations outside the district.
The opening match was played between Skylark and Zungamedem where Skylark outclassed their opponent.
