Dimapur, Dec. 8 (EMN): Honouring its commitment of belongingness to the people, the 29 Assam Rifles four-day excursion tour for the children of Joupi culminated on Dec. 7 with the visit of the contingent of 39 children (17 boys, 22 girls), five teachers and two village chiefs to the Governor’s house in Manipur. This was stated in a press release issued by Inspector General Assam Rifles (South). Governor of Manipur, Dr. Najma Heptulla appreciated the multipronged approach of Assam Rifles to bring normalcy in the region. She interacted with the kids and wished for more such interactions with populace of remote region. Governor said more such tours should be organised to train and help the young brains in achieving their goal in life. The release further mentions that the excursion was a successful attempt of the 29 Assam Rifles to help and support local populace thus fulfilling its agenda of targeting youths and children to train, educate and expose them to nationalistic agenda of development as it would enable the young impressionable minds to integrate with national mainstream and act as a catalyst for channelizing their aspiration to achieve higher goals in life.
