10th Music Awards of Nagaland at Kisama today

The 10th Music Awards of Nagaland (MAN) will be held today at Bamboo Hall in Kisama as part of the ongoing Hornbill Festival from 5:30 pm onwards.

An update from the Native Trax Society (NTS) issued on Dec. 6 mentioned that altogether 62 nominees from across various genres of music would be vying for the honour and prestige of winning a MAN trophy.

MAN which is said to have been instituted in the year 2009 is being organised annually for the last ten years by the NTS.

NTS is said to be organisation that seeks to honour home-grown music makers and those working within the local music industry.

A total of 21 awards is said to be given away for the Best songs in Gospel, Gospel (Local dialects), Rock (Alternative/ Indie), Rock (Metal/ Heavy), Hindi & Local dialects, Pop, Hiphop/ Rap, Folk Fusion, Instrumental, EDM and EDM (with vocals) genres which are said to be judged by an esteemed panel of judges. A different award called ‘Song of the Year’ is however said to be a public choice award which would go to the nominee who receives the most Likes, Shares and views on the Music Awards of Nagaland Facebook Page and Youtube channel.

To acknowledge the hard work and talent of those working behind the scenes, awards would also be presented in technical categories for Best Music Video, Best Video Director, Best Sound Engineer, Best Producer, Patron Award and Best Lyricist/ Songwriter inorder to encourage and promote the growth of the local music industry, the update further informed.

The show, which is said to be supported by Tourism Department and IWSN would be hosted as usual by renowned Rapper and VJ Imli Lee a.k.a. Déjà vu.
